Green light for euro100m Athenry development

Sunday Business Post - 16th October 2005

By Ian Kehoe

Oysterhomes, the property development company owned by construction multimillionaire Eamon Conneely, has received planning permission for a euro100 million development in Athenry, Co Galway.

Conneely, the firm's chief executive, said planning permission had been obtained in the past two weeks and the company hoped to start construction work early next year.

The 350,000 square foot scheme contains houses, offices, commercial units, a hotel and a number of restaurants.

"This is the gem, the jewel in the crown," said Conneely. "It is going to create a new quarter in Athenry."
